That back to school time of year

There is something about this back to school time of year that makes me feel both nostalgic and energetic. Perhaps its the fact that for 18 years September meant the start of something new.

I can’t help but feel the urge to buy lined paper. Could be because its on sale for 10 cents a pack and is the first display you see when walking into any store these days. Or maybe I just want to fill up all that lined paper with thoughts and plans and whatnot. Either way, I want me some Hilroy.

I also have the urge to buy rainbow Sharpie’s, new binders, brand spanking new notebooks and every Martha Stewart stationary accessory that Staples carries. These urges are nothing new. I feel like that each time I set foot in Staples no matter the season. But, I will say, this time of year certainly brings out the stationary addict in me.

The picture above is my first day of Kindergarden. The Fall of 1990. Rocking co-ordinating pinks and flanked by my two sisters, who, remain to this day my best friends. Who else would I want by my side when heading out into the world in a big yellow bus for the first time?

And while I won’t be getting on a big yellow bus anytime in the near future, I can always pop on over to Staples for some new polka dot binder clips. Or some rainbow Sharpie’s.

I love you. You’re the only creeper that would have found my first post, on the very day I posted it, without even having told you I was writing one today.
